The unit, designated as Unit #3, was commissioned in 1988, and operated continuously until June, 1999 when the unit was shut down concurrently with the Pulp Mill. The unit has a nameplate capacity of 1,500,000 lbs of dry solids per day while burning black liquor and an auxiliary fuel (#2 light oil). The boiler rated steam flow is 200,800 pph with a MAWP of 725 psig, although it was operated at 600 psig, and a superheated steam outlet temperature of 725 degrees F. |
